  • â…” cup Frank’s Red Hot – This is my favorite hot sauce, but if you have a crush feel free to use that instead.
  • ½ cup butter – It will melt faster if you let it soften at room temperature before cooking, but this is not essential.
  • 1 ½ tablespoons apple cider vinegar – If you don’t have it on hand, you can try a substitute.
  • ¼ tsp Worcestershire sauce – There are a few options if you need to substitute this as well, but this will affect the flavor slightly.
  • Seasonings – ¼ tsp cayenne pepper, â…› tsp garlic powder and 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes, if desired, for extra heat.
  • ½ cup sugar or honey  (Optional)  – I always add this, but it’s a personal preference for those who like their wing sauce with a little sweetness.

Combine. In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients  (â…” cup hot sauce, ½ cup butter, 1 ½ tbsp apple cider vinegar, ¼ tsp Worcestershire sauce, seasonings and honey if using). Heat the mixture over medium heat.

Simmer. Bring sauce to a boil, stirring or whisking occasionally, then remove from heat and whisk once more.

To serve. When done, you can set the sauce aside to cool so you can store it or toss it with wings and serve right away.
